Summer Read 1: The Mortal Instruments City Of Bones

Actually i read this book somewhere in the mid-April but only now i get to write a book review about it!

this is the first book among the TMI (the mortal instruments) series written by Cassandra Clare!

POV: the main protagonist of the story is Clarissa "Clary" Fray but the book written in a third person perspective so that means the author is the one narrating the story.

SETTING: New York (in most parts)

RATING: 5 stars out of 5!

BOOK SYNOPSIS:

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing -- not even a smear of blood -- to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .

Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

(via goodreads )

Why I recommend this book?

simply because it is very well written, the characters are very humorous and attractive and the story is just intriguing and something fresh.

It tells a tale about the world of Shadowhunters - who are half human/ half Angel that kills Raveners (demons) to protect the world against evil but the story doesnt only focus on it, there are alsomoments where can really make you gasp and say " OH MY GOD", "this can't be happening", "my feels, cries".
it contains adventure yet there is a twist of enough of romance just right to fuel the story!

Why i love this book?

one word. Magnificent!

it is just perfection, if you are looking for an adventure in a young adult novel, well this is the right book to read! i love how they talk an converse with each other! they are actually not human yet they still have a part of them wherein they act like one e.i., eat, sleep, talk sarcasm!

personally, I do love books which is set in a different kind of world yet still lives like in a "real" place for the more dynamic feeling of being step into their world and have a better chance living inside it.

- a must read!

so, you better read it before the movie release this august 23rd starring Lily Collins as Clary Fray and Jamie Campbell Bower as Jace Wayland, the movie is directed by Harald Zwart!
